Raja Baldev Birla had built the Birla Mandir in the year 1938; the temple was inaugurated by father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi. There is a very interesting story based on inauguration of temple, at that point of time, there was a social evil of Untouchability in the society and was in a peak level, so there is a need of eliminating it. Permissions are not given to anybody for entering into the premises of the temples. Gandhiji had passed a condition that if everyone in the society is allowed into the temple and offer their prayers then he would inaugurate the temple. Then onward everyone in the society was allowed into the temple.About Birla Mandir
